Harry Potter at Islands of Adventure!
The new and exiting world of Harry Potter has made its way to the Universal Orlando Resort! With loads of new rides and adventures here at Islands of Adventure you can now visit the strange and mysterious world of magic and excitement! The halls of Hogwarts will be full and school is in session, what strange and daring conquest will you set out upon today?
Dragon Challenge: Get in on the action in this high speed duel for the Triwizard Cup! You can choose from two separated dragons, the Hungarian Horntail and the Chinese Fireball, each equally matched and prepared to fight for their right to own the trophy Goblet of Fire. These high speed rollercoaster were previously known as the Dueling Dragons, now redone to accompany the Harry Potter theme you can enjoy your two previous favorite roller coasters or take a step onto the new and improved rides! These two inversed coasters hang you mid air as you spin, twist, flip and twirl just inches from each other, something that can only be found at Islands of Adventure! Flight of the Hippogriff: This new and unique ride lets you get an up close encounter with the incredible Hippogriff, a large animal with the body of a horse and the wings and head of an eagle. With the proper training you get the opportunity to ride one of these amazing creatures as you fly past some of the icons in the world of Harry Potter. With fluttering leaves and falling feathers this fun and adventurous ride is just awaiting you at Hagrid’s hut!
Filch’s Emporium: If Dervish and Banges wasn’t enough to fill your craving for Harry Potter souvenirs than you have come to the right place! Filch’s Emporium is chock full of cool items and remakes from the movie. From jackets to t-shirts, shoulder bags to hats, you can find just about anything to satisfy your inner fan! Get Death Eater masks, Quidditch clothing, magical toys and even film based chess sets, its all here at Filch’s Emporium where the world of Harry Potter can fall into your hands!
Honey Dukes: Everyone has a sweet tooth and some just enjoy exotic flavors, well here you will get the best of both with some of the most interesting and strange flavors in the everyday candies, treats and pastries! From exploding bonbons to cauldron cakes, acid pops to fizzing whizzbees, chocolate frogs to treacle fudge, whatever it is you’re sure to find here! Despite the terrifying names these dishes are actually an awesome way to tie you over in-between meals, so head on over and fill up on these odd delights. Ollivanders: So what makes this shop so unique? Well everyone wants to be a wizard, but what must a wizard have to project his spells? Well a wand of course, and here you can have your wand choose! This fun and unique experience is a short and fun way to choose a souvenir, and trust us when we say Ollivanders know what they’re doing, they have been providing young wizards with wands since 382 B.C.!
Three Broomsticks: When the sun is high in Florida its time to take a break, and what better time to grab a bite to eat? Here at Three Broomsticks you can enjoy a hearty meal at a great a price… and yes in the Air Conditioning! With Hogsmeade and Butterbeer to wet your tongue this great restaurant serves full meals and great foods to keep your stomach from growling. The food here is truly magical and you’re invited for both lunch and dinner! Zonkos: With a truly whacky name you just might suspect some sort of trickery. Well you would be right, Zonkos is full of novelty items, these include some of the best jokes you will find in Universal! With toys galore you can bring home souvenirs for the whole family, and with funny and comical trick items you can scare or startle the family with these fun illusions!
Harry Potter Review: Dude I’m not really a huge harry potter fan like everyone else that was there today but I have today the park was totally sick. For some reason I thought there was a whole new park but it was just a section of islands of adventure that used to be where the dinosaurs were at and whatever. The graphics that were there were awesome, the rides were awesome how it takes you in and around the castle. It was such a cool experience it almost felt like I was in the book at some points of my trip the butter beer was good and the joke shop had a bunch of things I could use to pull pranks on my friends so they will laugh at themselves when I play jokes on them there was a cool design where the owls hang out and I don’t know if the owls were real or not but it was so cool! If I had to go anyhere in Orlando this would be the place. My days of going to other parks are over I cant wait to go back it was so crowded since today was the first day though but it was worth it – I was one of the lucky ones who got to get parking and ride the rides withought having to wait in such a long line. If you ever go check out Honey Dukes also that’s where I bought some candy for my girlfriend she was impressed too. |
Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey: Wind your way through the magical hallways of the familiar Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in this rollercoaster like ride! Visit places and rooms that played a major role in the movies and books, from Dumbledore’s office to the Gryffindor common room your journeys just about to begin. Adventure through the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom and take a peak at the Room of Requirement! So what sets this ride apart from any other museum tour? The entire time you’re exploring these secret filled hallways you will be meeting magical creatures, characters and coming face to face with accidents the school would rather keep a secret. With some of the most impressive incorporation of technology and engineering this ride is a new and unique experience that can be found no where else!

From Spectrespecs to Sneakoscopes, Omnioculars and even the Monster Book of Monsters you can get in on the world of Harry Potter in a fun way with school uniforms and items from the books and movies!
Owl Post: Every experimenting wizard needs a place to write his spells, and here at Owl Post you can find just that! From writing utensils to post marks this office offers you letters, stamps, feathered quills and more! Up in the rafters you can see almost a dozen large owls, hooting and stretching their feathers! At the front window is a screeching owl that will startle you and passers by with its loud… well screeching!
